Latrobe Regional Gallery
Latrobe Valley, Victoria, Australia
Since its inception, works in the Collection have been placed with several regional galleries in eastern Australia, most of which are located in areas where large industries are based.
The Collection is managed by the Latrobe Regional Gallery (LRG) in Victoria’s Latrobe Valley, and works are held in public galleries in Wollongong, Geelong, Broken Hill, Bendigo, Gippsland (Sale and Morwell), the Mornington Peninsula, as well as the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery, Launceston, Tasmania.
These galleries and the communities they serve have benefited in numerous ways by the addition of works from the Cbus Collection to their own local collections. At the Bendigo and Geelong galleries, works by well known Australian artists such as Frederick McCubbin, Rupert Bunny and Tom Roberts add to the impressive works on permanent display to the public. For smaller galleries, the Cbus artworks augment their more modest collections, providing fine examples of Australian colonial, impressionist, modernist, Indigenous and contemporary art to regional audiences equal to those found in metropolitan galleries.
